Lights Out, Now What?
When Victoria was faced with the moral dilemma of having a child or going blind she decided it was more important for her son to have a sibling than to save her sight. He got a little sister, and his mom went blind.

“If I could live my life again with sight, I wouldn’t choose it.”

Victoria describes how challenges are opportunities and how a simple change in how you “look” at things can turn your life around.

“The most important characteristic is grit.”

This turn around led Victoria to the World’s Stage. She represented Canada in the sport of rowing in Beijing, London and Rio and broke the world record in 2010.

“You have to learn how to lose to learn how to win.”

Using the lessons, she learned coping with blindness and competing on Team Canada Victoria shares her secrets to reaching her goals, persevering in the face of adversity and using disappointments to propel you to victory.

“That is how I know there is no limit to what you can achieve. The only limit is the fear you create for yourself.”
